Ingredients:
  • 1 lb (450g) ground beef (80/20 blend)
  • 4 brioche burger buns
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese
  • 8 strips bacon
  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce
  • 4 leaves lettuce
  • 4 slices tomato
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons butter (for toasting buns)
Instructions:
  1. Divide ground beef into 4 equal portions and form into patties slightly larger than your buns. Season both sides generously with salt and pepper.
  2. Cook bacon in a skillet until crispy. Set aside on paper towels.
  3. In the same skillet, caramelize the sliced onions over medium heat until golden brown, about 8-10 minutes.
  4. Grill or pan-fry burger patties over medium-high heat for 4-5 minutes per side. During the last minute of cooking, brush both sides with barbecue sauce and top with cheddar cheese. Cover briefly to melt.
  5. Butter the cut sides of the buns and toast them on the grill or in a pan until golden.
  6. Assemble burgers: bottom bun, lettuce, tomato, BBQ burger patty with cheese, caramelized onions, crispy bacon, extra BBQ sauce, and top bun.
  7. Serve immediately while hot.
