Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450 g) ground beef (80/20 blend)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese
  • 4 brioche burger buns
  • 4 lettuce leaves
  • 4 tomato slices
  • 4 onion slices
  • 4 tbsp burger sauce or mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp butter (for toasting buns)

Instructions

  1. Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions and shape them into burger patties.
  2. Season both sides of each patty with salt and black pepper.
  3. Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Cook the patties for about 4 minutes per side, or until desired doneness.
  5. Place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty during the last minute of cooking and allow it to melt.
  6. Spread butter on the buns and toast them lightly until golden.
  7. Assemble the burgers by spreading sauce on the bottom bun.
  8. Add lettuce, tomato, onion, and the cheesy burger patty.
  9. Close with the top bun and serve immediately.
