Ingredients

  • 2 beef patties (80–100g each)
  • 2 slices of cheddar cheese
  • 1 hamburger bun
  • Lettuce leaves
  • 2–3 tomato slices
  • Pickles (optional)
  • Sliced onion (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Butter for toasting the bun
  • Burger sauce (mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard mix or your choice)

Instructions

  1. Season the beef patties with salt and pepper on both sides.
  2. Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat and cook the patties for about 3–4 minutes per side, or until desired doneness.
  3. Place a slice of cheese on each patty during the last minute of cooking to melt.
  4. Lightly butter the bun and toast it on the pan until golden.
  5. Spread sauce on the bottom bun.
  6. Add lettuce, then the first cheese-topped patty.
  7. Stack the second patty with cheese on top.
  8. Add tomato, pickles, and onions if desired.
  9. Close with the top bun and serve immediately.
