Pizza Burger (Easy & Practical Recipe)

This hamburger pizza is a creative and protein-rich twist on traditional pizza, replacing the classic dough with a savory ground meat base. It’s a simple, low-carb option that combines the flavors of a juicy burger with the comfort of melted cheese and tomato sauce.

⏱️ Time

About 60 minutes + 10 minutes finishing
Serves: ~6–8 portions

🧾 Ingredients

  • 750 g ground beef
  • 3 slices of bread (preferably white or sandwich bread)
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 clove garlic (minced)
  • Salt and seasoning to taste
  • 4 tablespoons tomato sauce
  • 6 slices mozzarella cheese
  • 2 cups sliced calabrese sausage (or similar sausage)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Oregano to taste

👨‍🍳 Instructions

1. Prepare the meat base

  • Soak the bread in milk until soft.
  • In a bowl, mix:
    • ground beef
    • soaked bread
    • egg
    • garlic
    • salt and seasonings
  • Combine well until it forms a uniform mixture.

2. Bake the base

  • Spread the mixture evenly in a baking dish (like a thick “pizza crust”).
  • Bake in a preheated oven at high temperature for about 50 minutes.

3. Add toppings

  • Remove from the oven and spread:
    • tomato sauce
    • mozzarella cheese
    • sliced sausage
  • Sprinkle oregano and drizzle olive oil.

4. Finish baking

  • Return to the oven for about 10 minutes, until the cheese melts and toppings are cooked.

🍽️ Serving

  • Slice like a pizza and serve hot.
  • It’s basically a meat-based “pizza crust” topped like a pizza, combining burger and pizza flavors.

💡 Tips

  • You can swap sausage for bacon or pepperoni.
  • Add onions, olives, or peppers for extra flavor.
  • Use cheddar instead of mozzarella for a stronger “burger” taste.
