Servings: 8 buns
Ingredients
- 650 g all-purpose flour
- 400 ml warm water
- 10 g dry biological yeast
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 egg
- Sesame seeds (optional)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix about 150 g of the flour with the dry yeast and sugar.
- Gradually add the warm water while stirring until everything dissolves well.
- Add the oil, then mix in the egg and salt.
- Slowly add the remaining flour, mixing continuously until a soft and homogeneous dough forms. If necessary, add a little extra flour until the dough no longer sticks to your hands.
- Knead the dough for about 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Cover the bowl with a clean towel and let the dough rise for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
- Divide the dough into 8 equal portions and shape them into balls.
- Place the dough balls on a greased or parchment-lined baking tray, leaving space between them. Cover and let them rise again for 40 minutes.
- If desired, brush the tops with beaten egg and sprinkle sesame seeds on top.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for 30–35 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let the buns cool slightly before serving. These buns are perfect for homemade hamburgers or sandwiches.
