Prep Time: 20 minutes
Cook Time: 30 minutes
Servings: 8 buns

Ingredients

  • 650 g all-purpose flour
  • 400 ml warm water
  • 10 g dry biological yeast
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 egg
  • Sesame seeds (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix about 150 g of the flour with the dry yeast and sugar.
  2. Gradually add the warm water while stirring until everything dissolves well.
  3. Add the oil, then mix in the egg and salt.
  4. Slowly add the remaining flour, mixing continuously until a soft and homogeneous dough forms. If necessary, add a little extra flour until the dough no longer sticks to your hands.
  5. Knead the dough for about 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  6. Cover the bowl with a clean towel and let the dough rise for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  7. Divide the dough into 8 equal portions and shape them into balls.
  8. Place the dough balls on a greased or parchment-lined baking tray, leaving space between them. Cover and let them rise again for 40 minutes.
  9. If desired, brush the tops with beaten egg and sprinkle sesame seeds on top.
  10. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for 30–35 minutes, or until golden brown.
  11. Remove from the oven and let the buns cool slightly before serving. These buns are perfect for homemade hamburgers or sandwiches.
