Ingredients

For the Burgers

  • 500 g ground beef (80/20 blend preferred)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 4 sesame seed hamburger buns
  • 4 extra bun bottoms or middle bun slices
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded iceberg lettuce
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • Pickle slices

For the Special Sauce

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon white vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped pickles or pickle relish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Sauce
    In a bowl, mix mayonnaise, mustard, ketchup, vinegar, paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, and chopped pickles until smooth. Refrigerate for at least 15 minutes.
  2. Shape the Patties
    Divide the ground beef into 8 thin patties slightly larger than the buns. Season lightly with salt and pepper.
  3. Cook the Beef
    Heat a skillet or griddle over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 2 minutes per side until browned and fully cooked.
  4. Toast the Buns
    Lightly toast all bun pieces on the skillet until golden.
  5. Assemble the Burgers
    • Bottom bun: spread sauce, add lettuce, onions, cheese, and one beef patty.
    • Middle bun: spread more sauce, add lettuce, pickles, onions, and another beef patty.
    • Finish with the top bun.
  6. Serve Immediately
