Bacon Burger

Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450 g) ground beef (80/20 blend)
  • 8 slices smoked bacon
  • 4 brioche burger buns
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese
  • 4 lettuce leaves
  • 4 tomato slices
  • 8 pickle slices
  • 1 small red onion, sliced
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil (optional)

Burger Sauce

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tbsp yellow mustard
  • 1 tsp pickle relish
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika

Instructions

  1. Cook the bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate.
  2. In a small bowl, mix all the burger sauce ingredients until smooth. Set aside.
  3. Divide the ground beef into four equal portions and gently form patties. Season both sides with salt and black pepper.
  4. Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4–5 minutes per side, depending on desired doneness.
  5. During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty and let it melt.
  6. Lightly toast the brioche buns.
  7. Spread burger sauce on both halves of each bun.
  8. Assemble each burger with lettuce, the cheeseburger patty, two slices of crispy bacon, tomato, onion, pickles, and the top bun.
  9. Serve immediately with fries, onion rings, or your favorite side dish.
