- 6 crusty French bread rolls
- 500 g ground beef
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 medium tomatoes, diced
- 2 tablespoons tomato sauce
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ½ teaspoon paprika
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
- ½ cup grated mozzarella cheese (optional)
Instructions
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the onion and cook for 2–3 minutes until softened. Add the garlic and sauté for another 30 seconds.
- Add the ground beef and cook, breaking it apart with a spoon, until browned and cooked through.
- Stir in the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, salt, black pepper, and paprika.
- Cook for 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the mixture becomes rich and slightly thickened.
- Turn off the heat and stir in the parsley. Adjust the seasoning if needed.
- Cut an opening lengthwise into each bread roll, creating a pocket without cutting all the way through.
- Generously fill each roll with the hot beef mixture. Add grated mozzarella if desired.
- Serve immediately while the bread is crisp and the filling is hot.
