Ingredients

For the Chicken Hearts

  • 500 g (1.1 lb) chicken hearts, cleaned
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

For the Burgers

  • 4 burger buns, toasted
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese
  • 4 lettuce leaves
  • 1 large tomato, sliced
  • 1 small red onion, sliced

Garlic Sauce

  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 1 clove garlic, finely grated
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine the chicken hearts with olive oil, garlic, smoked paprika, salt, pepper, and lemon juice. Marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  2. Prepare the garlic sauce by mixing mayonnaise, garlic, lemon juice, and salt in a small bowl. Set aside.
  3. Heat a grill pan or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the chicken hearts for 8–10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until fully cooked and lightly charred.
  4. Add the cheddar cheese over the hot chicken hearts during the last minute of cooking, allowing it to melt slightly.
  5. Spread the garlic sauce on both halves of the toasted burger buns.
  6. Assemble each burger with lettuce, tomato slices, red onion, and a generous portion of the cheesy chicken hearts.
  7. Serve immediately with fries, chips, or a fresh salad.
